National Parents in Sports Week - October 2016:

"LET KIDS BE KIDS":
"The positive encouragement and support of your child can't be over emphasized. How you behave and what you say will have huge impact on how your child experiences the game. Even the All-Blacks say so!" (the video link is https://www.youtube.com/embed/32n1JHaDTg4?autoplay=1)

"MY MAGIC SPORTS KIT":
"Sometimes parents become over involved in their child's rugby, it is important to remember that it is their game, not yours. Watch the clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2uH9Dle8mQ&feature=youtu.be) to see young people describe how poor adult behaviour negatively impacts on their participation."

Information on Nike Boot Studs:

Dear Member,

Please take note of the attached information from the IRFU Referees department regarding studs in the Nike boot.

It has come to the IRFU Referees Department's attention that the studs in the Nike boot as shown in the attached photos do not conform to the IRB's regulation 12 and as such are illegal.

If your child is wearing Nike Boots, please refer to the attached information.

1. IRB Regulation 12 EN >
2. 130325 CL Note to Unions Law 4 Players Clothing >

If you have the following boots, with screw in studs, then the tip is too small and they are illegal.

  • Nike Tiempo Range

  • Nike Mercurial Range

  • Nike Magista Range

  • Nike Hypervenom Range

  • The metal studs need to be at least 10mm in diameter at the tip but these boots only have studs that are 6mm.

Saturday 31st January 2014 - Gary Brown trains with Under 8's:

The club had a real treat on when Ex- Leinster and Ireland Seven International Player Gary Brown visited the u8's. It was great that he could take time out of his busy schedule to come down as he is now co-owner and trainer at Origin Fitness Strength and Conditioning Gym in Sandyford.

Gary joined us for the day to give the kids and coaches some valuable knowledge from his many years playing Heineken Cup and Celtic League rugby. The kids really enjoyed it and they all seemed to up their game to show their capabilities.

The feed back from the coaches and kids after was very positive and the general consensus was that it was very valuable visit to the group.

After the training session Gary was very complimentary about the way the club is run and he really enjoyed the session. He said "fair play to everyone involved in St. Brigids RFC and to keep up the continuous work that's going on, its brilliant to see".

Hopefully we will see Gary again very soon.

We wish Gary the best of luck in his preparation for Ireland legends Vs England Legends in the coming weeks!

Saturday 17th January 2015 - Under 12's play in RDS during Leinster v Castre:

St.Brigid's U12's played Longford RFC during half-time in the Leinster v's Castres Champions Cup match on Saturday in the RDS.

This was a very memorable occasion for all the players and their families.

Ireland and Australia at the Aviva Stadium on 22nd November 2014:

Louis Magee, u8 player with St Brigid's, was one of the mascots for the recent game between Ireland and Australia at the Aviva Stadium on 22nd Nov. Louis got to meet Paul O'Connell and other members of the team. This was a great honour for Louis and will be a day to remember.

    Well done Louis!
